Sculptures

My (predominantly) bear statues are all made of European imported wood cellulose powder.

Once mixed it acts like clay, although less forgiving. The statue will always have a more impressionistic appearance because of this.

Once the statue is totally dry and to my satisfaction, the statue is sanded, coated in a bronze enamel and an antique patina.

Each statue is as unique as a bronze. Unlike bronzes however, it is never duplicated!

For 2016 I created the 'Namaste Yoga Bears':

it combines Vancouver's passion for yoga with my ongoing love affair with Canada's outdoors and it's captivating wildlife!

Handpainted Wild Turkey Feathers

For well over a decade I have been painting on wild turkey feathers. A unique medium that does not allow you to either draw or erase or repair when you start out. . It is a challenging 'canvas' because all the proportions need to be 'perfect' from the start.

Because of the above there still are very few artists in North America who use wild turkey feathers as their canvas!

These days I focus more on 3D art and Mixed Media, I do still take commisions though!
